In 2007 we launched our Octane Orthobiologics venture to develop our tissue engineering innovations using Cocoon, Octane’s patient-scale automated production system for tissue and cell therapy. The result: customized living-tissue implants that target restoration of biological function where bone, cartilage and other connective tissues self-repair and heal completely.
Today, thanks to our partnership with Aesculap Biologics, LLC, and the Cocoon automation platform, process scale-up efficiencies are finally possible for the routine manufacturing of living tissue implants to repair articular lesions of the knee.
Octane Orthobiologics Inc. is currently exploring other orthopedic applications, such as disc and tendon repair.
