octane + you
At Octane, we innovate game changing medical technologies and advance our successes into production within targeted, application-specific ventures. To launch the products we manufacture into international markets, we seek out the best commercialization partners for our ventures.
Our partners are essential to our success, transforming medicine and getting us closer to the day when regenerative medicine becomes the standard of care.
Octane Exo Spinal implant, made with Octane HyperPEEK
We took our deep knowledge of biomaterials and cell-substrate interactions to create composites that trigger a positive cellular response in the body while avoiding a negative reaction. For example, by combining a bio-friendly polymer with calcium phosphate produced with a proprietary addition of the element silicon, we invented an extra strong material with unique bioactivity that enhances implant integration over time.
Through our Octane Exo venture, we’re incorporating these biocomposites into next-generation implants that accelerate healing, restore natural function and provide positive long-term outcomes. We continue to explore further performance enhancement for these implants through the addition of recombinant proteins, synthetic peptides and active cells.
Cocoon for automated production of living orthopedic implants
We’re building tomorrow’s living implants today through patient-scale tissue engineering in our Cocoon tissue therapy production system. Through our Octane Orthobiologics venture, we’re developing advanced technologies and processes for producing organic tissue implants from the patient’s own cells, to ensure excellent healing and recovery.
AI-driven personalized bioelectric stimulation
The human body’s innate bioelectricity has long been harnessed in medicine to promote healing, albeit with limited understanding of the science behind the outcomes. The scientists and technologists in our Octane Innovations venture are now exploring the body’s built-in power to stimulate cellular pathways, and innovating towards diagnostic and therapeutic applications. We welcome partnerships that can help advance our work in this exciting field.
